Amazingly creepy and compelling, this is a thriller so well written that the love story within it emerged seamlessly and served to enhance the story as much as it provided healing for the characters. Good pacing throughout; loved the emotion tied to the steamy scenes; enjoyed the banter and dialogue among the variety of characters. However, I still don't see the need for a particular scene between Sali and Ben--didn't advance the plot; any character aspects were already clearly established without this weird overstep of relationship-- seriously, WTH? Seemed to dance awfully close to the 'what lesbians need' trope, and I am hoping other books by the author avoid that altogether. As a thriller, it's good; as an authentic lesbian driven fiction, maybe -- parts were done really well, but I am trying another book in the series before I decide the perpetual lack of boundaries on top of that bizarre moment in the story are the norm not a blip. Oh my God, oh my God... my emotions. At first I thought I wouldn't manage to read a book like this one, with so much pain. But I did and it was worth it. This felt so real, the whole process. I am glad though that some scenes were not so detailed. Because I don't think I would have managed to go thru it.It was a very good book. It can give you a slight picture of what happens and goes thru someone's mind after such a huge trauma.
